Out of boredom, I have been looking for a cheap used "groovebox" or music toy. I have never been a hardware person, mainly due to finances. I never liked playing out with computers, I have done it for years, but I'm always jealous of that guy with a a suitcase nuke looking digital modular rig... I donno. Anyways. I think that a cheap Chinese produced groovebox that used .sunsynth for it's sounds would be killer.
BTW, the solution for my groovebox lust turned into a new respect for pixietracker. Maybe pixitracker could someday load .sunsynths as well as sample packs?

A couple of ideas occur to me.
One is: get a raspberry pi, and put the raspberry version of sunvox on it. Then use something else as a controller, like (for example) a Novation Circuit.
It's cheap, it sends MIDI, it works.
Slightly more expensive, there's always the KORG Electribe line.
There are others, but I think that raspberry and groove sequencer are where you're headed.

yeah, something like a case dedicated to turning a raspberry pi into a groovebox. would have to have a Russian tube power amp 100 watt mono speaker right on the front. open back panel so you can run all the MIDI/CV/USB as panel jacks or whatever.
the raspberry pi that i have barely runs the OS tho, never tried it with music apps because it was already slow at security camera stuff. it s the very first version tho...
still it seems like it needs to be a real pro who builds some case like this. someone who can really solder and code to set it up properly. not like some hack like me lol.

I just got ahold of a Samsung t350 for too cheap. It runs sunvox perfect. Hope sunvox gets MIDI in Android

gotta say... that site hit the nail on the head. my Honor 7X does indeed have 160ms latency and my GalaxyT-350 does have measured 32ms latency. cool thing is that all i have to do now, is drop down a delay and set it to 160/32ms and the audio and MIDI are in sync.

Along with MIDI, you could also try using a Raspberry Pi with the SunVox engine or just SunVox without a GUI; the GPIO module will allow you to control your synths with physical buttons and knobs. Although I believe that the GPIO can only output note commands, you can use the Pitch2Ctl module to change controllers.
