Android MIDI IN
Android MIDI IN
Firstly kudos to NightRadio - I recently came across SunVox and it is simply brilliant.
I tried to search forums without success for this request as I'm sure I'm not alone in wanting to be able to use a midi keyboard on Android.
Is there any plan to implement MIDI IN on Android?
If so do you want a beta tester for this functionality?
Thank you

Re: Android MIDI IN
Thanks for posting this. I just bought a novation Impulse 25. Clearly not the best quality but it sure is fun. If it were not for Sunvox I would have not gotten back into music.
Re: Android MIDI IN
So this was a bit ago but my searches aren't bringing any updates on it, so I wanted to ask if this was a feature for SunVox Android as of yet?
I have:
SunVox Android (Purchased)
Samsung Galaxy S5 Active (running Android 4.4.4, will have 5.0 in near future)
Behringer UMA 25S Midi Controller (can use DC Adapter or batteries as power source)
OTG Adapter with its own power source to connect MIDI Controller to phone.
I want to:
Plug in the MIDI Controller to SunVox on my phone and assign its buttons, keys, knobs, sliders, etc to parameters, transport controls, hotkeys, etc in SunVox (preferably by using the "Learn" function on my controller). And of course, play notes with the keyboard.
How possible is this? Thank you again for SunVox!!!!

Thank you for this great music app.
Can you provide the status of the implementation or a date for the release, I'm waiting for this to connect my MPK.
I really like the 8bitsynth module of Caustic which allows you to play with mathematical expressions to shape sounds, do you plan to create something similar?

Yea. I used caustic some years ago. But sunvox wins it. But the math expression synth would be a great feature!pierco wrote:Thank you for this great music app.

Re: Android MIDI IN
I also want Android MIDI functionality. We have this with Sunvox on other platforms, and we have it with other apps on Android. Please can we have MIDI for Sunvox on Android?!
Re: Android MIDI IN
I would also be super thrilled for this. This is one thing that could really make Sunvox ideal on Android for portable music development!

Re: Android MIDI IN
Most of those problems are with Android itself.

Re: Android MIDI IN
I know how microkernel Linux works but I cannot immagine how Android operates on this microkernel, so I don't know if it is due to Android problems or not... but is also true that other applications (I don't know how these are developped) can play midi from external USB keyboard without significant latence and any other problems.
Therefore I prefer keep open my question to NighRadio (... that he walks away from this.)
