SunVox v1.9.1

Post by NightRadio »

SunVox has been updated to v1.9.1!
http://warmplace.ru/soft/sunvox
(iOS version will be available within a few days)

Image

What is new:
  • new module - Glide; it is similar to the MultiSynth, but it also adds the commands of smooth transition between the notes; see the glide.sunvox example;
  • advanced Interpolator has been added to the Pattern Editor: with this tool you can make a smooth transition of the values of any pattern columns, with various parameters (like the curve type, noise, etc.);
  • new function in the Module View (Routing) - Replace; use it if you want to replace the selected module by some other module without loss of connections;
    MIDI buttons (with notes) linked to some SunVox actions (shortcuts) are now ignored by the synths;
  • added restoring of the JACK MIDI input connections;
  • Sampler (sample editor): now the Copy and Paste functions work through the file;
  • Sampler (sample editor): new effects (Invert and Center) has been added;
  • LFO: new controller "Duty cycle" (only for the square waveform);
  • CUT operation has been added to the Module View (Routing) and the Timeline;
  • new keyboard shortcut: SHIFT + > - select the next module;
  • new keyboard shortcut: SHIFT + < - select the previous module;
  • new keyboard shortcut: CTRL + > - select the next synth;
  • new keyboard shortcut: CTRL + < - select the previous synth;
  • new keyboard shortcut: CTRL + RIGHT - next module horizontally;
  • new keyboard shortcut: CTRL + LEFT - previous module horizontally;
  • new keyboard shortcut: CTRL + DOWN - next module vertically;
  • new keyboard shortcut: CTRL + UP - previous module vertically;
  • new instrument from Cube48: DrumSynth48;
  • new simple song examples: glide;
  • new song examples: snowfall, SunVox Compo 2015.10 Winners (KnyazIvan - fatal precession, OceanicDegree - Dreaming, echo2 - unreal love 3);
  • bugs fixed.

Thank you very much!

Do you intend to put out a version 2.0 next, or rev 1.9 a bit more?

If it's 1.9, I hope you can still squeeze in an LFO update to include a random stepper option. For some kinds of music that would be very useful.

.... otherwise I'll have to fake one with a set of LFOs and Sound2Ctl. Cool stuff, but wasteful of modules.

At least the 1.9.2 will be released.

Yo, this is great! As a side-note, it'd be nice if you could add a little noted change-log between the beta and the release so we know what else to look for.

Any plans for V2.0? Like, a huge update, or is it just going to be about the same size as V1.9?

Sunvox version 2.0 will let you change synth module tunings on the fly.

Start in 12TET! Change to Pythagorean in D! Then Just Intonation based on F!

... actually, I would dream of that. I use pure tones a lot, and sometimes the dissonance between a tonic and a fifth in 12TET is really grating.

Thanks NightRadio great update!

Glide and the advanced interpolator are big new features but I suspect duty cycle on the LFO is going to see a lot of use from me as well.

This looks so awesome, especially the new interpolation options!

On a side note, the way you use wi-fi for file management on ipods is genius! I'll definitely be producing more on it now.
