Samplicity v0.4 (27.09.2012): .SFZ to .XI converter tool

Post by convergent »

Hi everyone! I had some time and willing and with NightRadio's help I created a useful tool which converts .SFZ sample packs to .XI files. Basically, .SFZ file is just a text file which you can create in any notepad on your computer. So, my tool can be used like .XI-editor.

You can check it out here: https://github.com/ckald/Samplicity

It's not done yet — there's a number of missing features and bugs, but it works for me pretty good: http://soundcloud.com/convergent/the-fire

Please read README.md file before using. I you encounter any problems — just contact me and we'll take care of them ;)

Let me know if it helps you.

Changelog
v0.4 September 27th, 2012
Added sample count constraint (no more than 128 per file) – -1 observed error
Moved temp files to system temp dir – job done clear now
Fixed envelope length and seconds-to-ticks conversion parameter — no more SunVox crashes

Thanks a lot for the resource! I was wondering if you think it would be possible at all to add support for SF2 soundfont files?

SF2 is a binary format so I'll a little programming time to add this feature :) But, yeah, I'll do that

Also: if anyone has cool SFZ samples — I need them for testing and any other purposes too :)

Known problems are and would be listed here: https://github.com/ckald/Samplicity/issues
