Notes sustained/held over patterns in Sunvox?

Post by Trackinze » Sat Aug 25, 2012 6:47 am

Have been using Sunvox for a little while - great program, very well done. A couple of questions.

First, is there a way to get a note to sustain across patterns? By default, Sunvox triggers off a sound at the end of a pattern, but it would be very helpful to be able to continue it into the next, if possible. This was possible with older tracker software, but it was on a track-by-track basis, and therefore handled differently. Of course, a pattern can always be extended to accommodate the held note, but if there are a lot of notes hitting off-beat and being held, it can be tricky keeping breaks straight without having extremely long patterns.

Also, as a side question, in many of the Sunvox vids, a full-range volume meter pops up. Haven't been able to find the shortcut key or menu item for that yet - may have just missed it in the documentation.

Thanks for the help, and keep up the great work with this program!

No, sorry. There is no such feature in SunVox. For long samples - use long patterns. For long pads, ambient sounds - use short patterns and instruments with release and attack parameters.

.
This works only when SunVox window is small, or when Control type = Fingers in the Preferences -> User interface
