Could you add ability to add samples directly into timeline (kinda like eJay or Magix Music Maker)?
I mean, we have Sampler, but it is usable only for instruments using samples - if you got nice beat in sample form, it's kinda useless. Also when you need sample to go on specific length and don't want to mess with pattern length when you decide for some reason change BPM, for example when you adding voice part to the song (not oohs/aahs, actual singing).
That feature would bring us closer to fully developed DAW.
Of course, both OGG files and WAV files should be able to placed into timeline.

Many people want to see this feature in SunVox.

Yeah, that's a very nice idea. Also, how about the ability to draw automation in the timeline?
Something like this maybe:
You would be able to zoom in, or maybe resize the pattern vertically, to achieve higher precision. A number could appear beside the cursor to say the exact numbers each parameter was being set to. Just a suggestion.

That also sounds like a good idea. Being able to set points on a linear path would help make automation that much easier.

Agreed. Good ideas.

Re: Adding samples directly into timeline
I think that to keep things consistent, to have greater precision, the sample pattern should have a special view in the sequence window (the tracker one, whatever it's called). It makes sense to use this area for something, since the line-by-line tracker is irrelevant to a sample.
Personally, it would bother me overcomplicating the song window (the one with the patterns in it) with an in-depth automation editor.
But also personally, I'm a fan of synthesizing stuff, and I probably wouldn't use long samples like this...

Maybe "sample pattern" should display sample's waveform on it instead of icon and stuff?
