Soften acoustic guitar

Post by stugood »

My guitar playing style is staccato and sounds quite sharp through headphones. I don't want to drastically change the style or track in the recording, just to take the harsh bite out. Any suggestions?

Have you tried using a lowpass filter? You could also try adding some compression.

sounds like you only need a compressor with 0 attack, but it depends on the audio. as i understand, you want to take the transients out of the fast strumming? seems to me like that would be the very thing that makes a guitar sound, but ok... post an example. I know you can "soften" peaks with the Sound2ctrl.
