Filter questions

Post by monoben » Sun Oct 19, 2014 5:16 pm

Has anyone made anything close to a flat crossover when filtering? I want a 3 band with hi and low shelves but I don't seem able to decide whats best in terms of roll off or resonance. Maybe you guys have found some winning combinations?

Also can someone explain what the response actually dose?

Not sure about first question, but about response: filters in sunvox don't change frequency instantly, it's more of a slide. And basically response controls the speed of that, higher values = faster speed. It's kind of like a portamento knob on synths.

So if I'm not using the filters LFO then the response doesn't really matter?

It has an effect when you're changing frequency with pattern commands. But if you don't change frequency at all it doesn't matter

Oh yeah, I see now! If I change the frequency then the response comes into play. Thanks twistboy! :)
