Automate recording into Sampler module

Hello all,
Yet another left-field question here: Is there anyway to automate recording audio into the Sample module? I see that you can set a recording threshold for the Sampler module to start recording automatically, but how do you get it to stop automatically without clicking the button or stopping the project? Being able to do this, I believe, could open up a lot of interesting sound possibilities as you could get the Sampler module to behave almost like a flexible audio buffer.
