Troubleshooting Thread?

Post by The Handle »

I was having issues figuring out how to clear the cache for sunvox earlier. It took me about an hour to figure out how to do it correctly (it was crashing on startup so I had to add a command to the shortcut). I think there should be a sticky post in the Bugs section for Troubleshooting, to help users when NightRadio can't answer PMs or forum posts. This would help speed up the process of solving problems, and determine whether it's really a bug or not.

By the way, if anyone is having the same crashing issues I was, here's how to clear the cache using a shortcut:
(for Windows 7)
1. Create a shortcut for sunvox.exe
-Right click sunvox.exe
-Select "create shortcut"
2. Right click the shortcut and select "Properties"
3. In the "Shortcut" tab, look at the "Target" portion
4. Go to the end of the Target's text, add a space, then add clearcache
5. Click OK
6. Open the shortcut (it will close itself right after being opened)
7. Now re-open the shortcut's properties and remove " clearcache" from the end of the Target (or just delete the shortcut)
8. Launch SunVox

Ok, thank you for this issue. I will think about Troubleshooting section.
Also i see yet another way. I can create a file clear_cache.bat with the following text: sunvox clearcache . And then just click on this file to cleat the cache.
