MultiCtl behaviour when connecting more then 16 ctls

Post by Ol sen »

MultiCtl can target up to 16 ctl of different connected moduls,
it can control only one of each (not 2 of lets say 8 moduls - I'd use a second MultiCtl of course ).

But the modul connections default behaviour in the UI allows to connect to more then 16 moduls..
So what happens when i connect a 17th modul? It would be ignored, which knowing the limit is expected.
Yet there is unexpected behaviour. read on..

Pretext: Create MultiCtl, connect 16 moduls to it.
Create a 17th modul, connect it. Select MultiCtl check the list you see the 16 controls, the 17th as expected ignored

Test: Now disconnect on one of modul 1..16, check the list.

Result: MultiCtl will shorten the list of controls, the former 17th control, now 16th is still ignored.

Expected was the former 17th control that became 16th by erasing one of the former 1..16 should appear as control.

Solution for now, is disconnecting and reconnecting to trigger MultiCtl recognition in UI but can become tedious when you cant figure out which one to disconnect and reconnect.
