sv: Ogg-reload locks [FIXED in v1.7.3]

Post by gilzad »

That's a bug I had noticed in Sunvox 1.7 already. But I wasn't sure if it had been reported so I waited. It's still there in 1.73b and easy to reproduce on Linux/amd64:

1. Start a new song in Sunvox.
2. Load the VorbisPlayer and connect it to the output.
3. Load a vorbis file into the VorbisPlayer and play it. It should play fine.
4. Now load another vorbis file into the same VorbisPlayer.
5. Try to play it with the VorbisPlayer. Sunvox locks. There won't be any sound and the GUI won't respond anymore, nor will Sunvox respond to SIGTERM. You have to force-kill it.

Workaround: Each time you want to load a different vorbis file, save and reload your sunvox-project first.

sysinfo:
Debian Squeeze (6), amd64
Kernel: 3.2.14-rt

Just let me know if I can help anyhow.

Thank you. This bug will be fixed in 1.7.3 (and in the next BETA 2).
