External LFO questions

Post by enzyme »

I've been using the LFO module to control external cc's on a Blofeld. It works well but the Blofelds polyphony is getting chewed up fast resulting in glitches and note stealing.

I'm just wondering if I can optimise Sunvox a bit to get a little extra mileage. It seems to be the LFO module that causes extra CPU load in the Blofeld. This is pretty normal but I'm getting the midi activity LED on the Blofeld, shining really brightly instead of its usual flickering, I've never seen this before so I'm probably doing something wrong in Sunvox.

Are there any settings for the LFO/sound2ctrl/multisynth modules that are relevant to MIDI cc's? I'm thinking the LFO is outputting at a much higher resolution than the usual 0-127 for cc's.

What do the different settings for LFO freq unit do? I think I need to be using the tick or line settings but I'm unsure as there isn't any information on it.

Any help is appreciated, I'm a Sunvox noob!

Did you try lowering the sample rate on the snd2control?

Thanks again! I tried it and it works great, I can run an extra channel on the Blofeld which is most welcome :D
