dx7 epiano1

Post by AutumnCheney »

UPDATE 2022/2023: this module as posted here is out of date, please go to my github repo to get the latest version of this module: https://github.com/autumncheney/sunvox-modules

here's my recreation of the famous "epiano1" patch from the yamaha dx7. i used the original patch loaded into dexed as a reference. it turns out the patch is actually pretty easy to recreate, as it uses three pairs of operators modulating the other with only one using feedback, which can easily be copied with sunvox's fm module

this module relies on velocity for expression, so be sure to vary the velocity for maximum expressiveness

i've included the module and a demo with the synth playing the chords from "rush rush" by paula abdul, a classic song that this was used in

this is under the mit license, no need to credit me if you're just using it

This is fantastic! Thank you for this. I've been messing around with SunVox for about two years now but never really dug into audio synthesis, analog or FM. I've got some good books now and am finally learning when I can. All these modules you posted will be good study material, so thank you. :)

By the way, I checked out your music. You have a lot of really interesting stuff, I like it.
