note harmonizers

Post by AutumnCheney »

UPDATE 2022/2023: these modules as posted here are out of date, please go to my github repo to get the latest version of these modules: https://github.com/autumncheney/sunvox-modules

here are some useful modules for turning notes into chords and doubling them at the octaves. there are two types: scale-based and chord-based, as well as two variants: regular and lite.

they both have controls for enabling the root up to the seventh, as well as the ability to double them at higher and lower octaves and do inversions. the chord-based type applies a chord type on all notes (select your chord with the "input module" controller. the scale-based type uses the notes of the c major scale to build the chords, and you can select the chords by playing any of the notes in the c major scale. you can get other keys and modes by transposing the output and starting on different notes (for example, get the minor scale by playing on the a note first)

the regular variant uses amplifier switches and sound2ctl modules for the controls, while the lite variant use a square multictl curve for the switches. the latter is much more cpu-friendly, hence the title

use these in a song to play chords with a single note, or as a compositional tool to help plan chord progressions

i had to zip them two at a time, as they are individually somewhere around 300 kilobytes in size and zipping them altogether would make the file too large.

these are under the mit license, no need to credit me if you're just using them
