Chorus Effect

Post by SawZer »

I found a way to chorus a sound without artifacts :D

HOW IT WORKS:
I have found that a vibrato'd sound, when parallel to a dry signal, interferes with the dry signal and creates a unison effect.

WHY WOULD I USE IT?:
~Enriches the timbre and creates spatial presence
~"Softens" up raw sounds
~Can make your sound seem more analog
~REESE BASSES

PARAMETERS:
~DRY: Unaltered signal
~WET: Altered signal
~HP Frequency: cutoff frequency of a high pass filter I added in. You might want to use this for some things. To 'bypass' it, just set the value to '0'
~HP Resonance: Resonating peak at the high pass' cutoff. Set this to 0 if the HP Frequency is set to 0.
~Vibratos 1-4 Periods: These parameters affect the rates of the four vibratos. They can be adjusted separately
~Vibratos 1-4 Amplitude: How much each of the vibratos are phasing the sound.

DOWNLOAD:
Just save the attached file. Unzip it, and inside you'll find the sunsynth file, which can be loaded directly from the module menu.

EXAMPLES: I've used this technique in several of my newer tracks, the earliest being my remix of the Deus Ex: Human Revolution main theme. You can check them out here :) http://soundcloud.com/sawzer/tracks
