Apparently this old site "Kiarchive" used to host a very large collection of xi format instruments with something like almost 900mb (around 8000 instruments). Unfortunately the site went down long ago, but fortunately for us, modarchive has saved the day with a well seeded torrent. I just checked it out a little while ago and there are some really nice sounding instruments there, all of which work inside Sunvox :)

Hmm, I shared this link with someone and he said the torrent is now down.

So since I still had all the files, I've mirrored it on Mediafire:

(9 files, ~430MB. I think because I used rar with the highest compression setting it compressed it quite a bit more than the original zip)

http://www.mediafire.com/download/j4y4f ... part08.rar

P.S.. there's a few instruments in the root directory that weren't on the original KIarchive, just some random things I downloaded, cello, harpsichord, distorted guitar, etc. :)

It works fine just checked it now before posting this...
Of course it would be without the additions of you organic io!
It comes compressed to 557 mb and opens up to if I remember close to 900 mb's.

Here's a list of different links to sample sites from chipmusic.org.

These single-cycle waveforms (from a link on that page) by adventurekid (I think?) are pretty nice.

EDIT: Also, this chip-music sample page, Woolyss, has some good stuff (like SIR SEDRIC's chip drums, for example).

A link to an Amen break patch I created for the sampler

All individual hits for the 2 bar break all sliced and mapped in mono from C5

Enjoy

Hi All,

Just beginning with SunVox, so this may be a stupid question...In which folder do I put the samples on this page? I'm assuming I out custom modules in the instrument folder.

Thank you,

Robert P.

Anywhere you want, from SunVox you can browse your entire system. You could make some subfolders in \instruments\ with obvious names for selfmade and collected instruments and samples, which you can always rearrange later since instruments used in a project are also stored in its .sunvox file

There's a nice torrent of WaveWorld samples from ModArchive.org available - lots of cool stuff there. Check it:

I love http://rhythm-lab.com/ and http://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/fre ... tis-627820.

Although, sometimes it is better to slow down, find an old record, and go 1 sample at a time.

Lots of good stuff, too much really !!!

Here are some nice free single cycle samples from old synths: http://www.mediafire.com/download/b0v9z ... -WAVES.zip
Most of the waveforms have loop markers already set up. They seem to be 3 octaves low in pitch, and a few cents off. Set your sampler to FINETUNE: +24, RELATIVE NOTE: +36.

Also, a technique for a more natural PWM sound! Take two separate same saw generators (it doesn't matter if you use analog gen, digital gen or sampler), add two amplifiers, and name one "Inverse". With a multisynth or glide, connect both saw modules, and connect one of the saw modules to the inverse amp, and connect the other saw module to the other amplifier. Connect the inverse amp to the other amp, and connect the regular amp to output. With the inverse amp, set "inverse" to true in the parameters. Now open the module settings for the saw modules. Detune them apart from each other. Now you have a PWM synth! You can adjust the speed by changing the detune. Less detune = slower beating and more detune = faster beating.
