It's been driving me insane that it's 2023 and there isn't more of this sort of stuff, I have some ideas for Virtual ANS. There are a whole bunch of practical reasons why I'm super disappointed though. Mainly coz I know you have limited time. And so do I. So the sorts of things that i'd find practically super useful (especially coz it might be preference-dominant) i'd not expect to see in Virtual ANS without significant development, and though I can't see any source available and haven't coded in a long time (but did code for a long time) I would've been quite tempted to go through the code (after all, I did start coding with the quake source code as a total noob and ended up coding physics engines and things). Anyway, cool software, it's just like "ffffff...if it had this and that..."
