Solar Sails lets you create and audition complex MetaModules quickly, then paste them directly into SunVox and use them immediately.

Newer videos are in the works, including how to use it in conjunction with SunVox during composition. But here are some older demonstrations of it in use.

Could you easily post some install or build instructions for Debian-based Linux or should I come back later? I happened upon the Metrasynth project while looking for easier ways to use just intonation in SunVox, and the tools look interesting but I have no idea where to begin.

I had these written out but had forgotten to put them into the installation doc. Here you go:

That worked without a hitch! For the curious, I am running AVLinux 2017 (I don't think 2018 has been released yet but I haven't checked..), which is based on Debian and borrows pieces from a few Debian distros, including Ubuntu.

As soon as I get the values worked out (and copied and pasted and copied and pasted etc etc) for a 5-limit 12-tone just intonation scale, I will generate a few. And look around to see what else can be done. :)

Is there an easy way to build solar sails with a light text/dark background interface? I can invert colors of course, but the rest of my desktop then gets very bright. For me it is actually painful to work with white background guis; for others it may be an aesthetic choice. Anyway, if it's complicated, nevermind. But if there are a few variables to change in the source code, I'd be wiling to try it out. I don't have much experience with Qt gui-building but it's never a bad time to start learning.

Qt has CSS-like styling of widgets. Let's look into that as a way of theming. I'll let you know what I discover when I get a chance to dig into that. Thanks for the feedback.

Cool. Maybe I'll martial the attention span to work through a Qt tutorial or two in the meantime. I can usually hack CSS into some semblance of what I want.
