Re: SUNVOX V1.6.4: DEVELOPMENT STATUS

Not to sound impatient, but the other OS's are done? So.... Can I have a build? :D LOL

EDIT: Didn't mean to be rude or anything, but since iOS builds can only be accessed on iOS's, the other builds could be up for grabs to play around with, right?

Please add a VST module. That would be huge!

Sorry, i'm not sure that VST would be supported in SunVox ever.

Ah well, at least add a 2-osc module (with detune as one of the parameters), a chorus module, And a parameter on LFO that syncs to tempo (1/2 notes 1/4 notes etc.)

+ an pitch, volume, and panning envelope Module, of course, for non Sampler instruments. :D

And add 3 parameters to Generators, SpectraVoice, FM:
-Portamento: [up/down/slide]
-Portamento Amt.: [0-8000]
-Portamento Start: [Attack/Decay (for FM's)/Sustain/Release]

Hi, I'm really enjoying the update! The drum synth is really cool. Thanks for your hard work.

I had an idea about bouncing a pattern down to a sampler. You can sorta do this now by exporting or recording into the sampler, but it would be great to have a quicker way.

Also, I thought that gestures might be a nice option. Like 3 finger swiping up or down to move from between the different views. Maybe ` and shift+` on windows and osx.

Another feature that would help is an option to convert a selection to a new pattern and an the ability to have 8 bar patterns.

This last request is maybe somewhat esoteric, but I would like to be able to assign different instruments on different MIDI channels.

Anyway, thanks again!

ability to have 8 bar patterns
It is possible now :) Just open the pattern properties and increase the number of tracks.
assign different instruments on different MIDI channels
Do you mean MIDI input?

Ahh, awesome! I thought because it said, 12,32,64, etc, that was the only number of lines I could have. :fool:

Yeah, now we can choose one MIDI in and one channel. The one in is okay, but I would like to choose different channels for the different instruments modules.

I think you can do it in module's properties, at least for Generators, but I am unsure.

//edit: sorry, you can't - though there was MIDI IN channel, but instead you can select only MIDI Out and bank & program for midi export.

Another feature request - how about a Formula module, in which you can enter your own formula to make sounds? Something like:

Sq + (Si * 0.5) + DC

Square wave plus half the volume of a sine wave, and add in the Duty Cycle parameter? It seems like it could be fun to mess about with.

Actually, this is already on the to-do list.

Yeah, the MIDI out per module is kinda neat. I guess it's to use Sunvox to sequence external hardware or software, but I'm not the biggest fan of tracker style sequencing, although Sunvox is the best I've used thanks to the fact that you can stack patterns on the arrange page. I mostly use it to make parts that I export and use elsewhere.

I would like to use Sunvox for the ipod touch as a synth module for a hardware sequencer, but it's not a big deal. It might make it easier to send MIDI CCs to control effects though. I need to experiment with MIDI CCs anyway to see if I can even get them working.

Anyway, I solved this with the OS X version by duplicating the app and running multiple copies with different MIDI in assignments!
