modulating vocal filter character & bandwidth = feedback

Post by foodeater »

i was looking at the included example file sound2ctl_filter. i added 2 other sound2ctls and set them to target bandwidth and character. set the sample rate of character over 9000. if you play about f4 or above screeching feedback happens. (don't use headphones!) you can get it to happen at lower sampler rates down to about 1,000, but it won't cause feedback every time.

here is it, please be careful, don't use headphones or use a limiter on your system audio. it can still be very loud with sunvox's volume low. it seems it will "get through" a compressor or multiple amps lowering volume in sunvox as far as i can tell. i'm on a mac so i use audio hijack and and audio unit limiter.

It seems that the Vocal Filter is unstable when it receives high-frequency oscillation on some parameters.
Please try to use the lower Sampling Rate and the higher Smooth value in the Sound2Ctl.
