sunvox bug: linux x86 fault

Post by facesonflags »

Hello, here is a paste of the last few lines from when I try to launch sunvox via terminal:

b7732000-b7739000 r--s 00000000 08:01 3436383 /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/gconv/gconv-modules.cache
b7739000-b773a000 r--p 002c5000 08:01 3404590 /usr/lib/locale/locale-archive
b773a000-b773d000 rw-p 00000000 00:00 0
bf866000-bf887000 rw-p 00000000 00:00 0 [stack]
Aborted (core dumped)

This is in 32 bit ubuntu on an old dell laptop. It does the same on any sunvox version I've tried. A window opens briefly which shows nothing and then the error message. I'll show more detail if it's needed. Search for similar issues were inconclusive.
With patience and gratitude,
-AV

Yes, please show the full log. Or send it to me nightradio@gmail.com
Have you ever launched SunVox successfully in Linux?

It works fine for me. As I've said, in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS in an hp laptop.

The only problem i have by the moment is that i can't introduce the event of turning note off with my keyboard (no problem with OFF button):
Examples of events:
event of turning note C5 on: C5 80 01 0000 0000
event of turning note A5 on: A5 80 01 0000 0000
event of turning note off: ==
In my keyboard (spanish) i have the equal symbol over the zero.

I've been testing for a pair of weeks and everything works. The Input module, impressive!

I hope that the Key Remapping feature will be added to SunVox soon...
Also please try to use CAPSLOCK instead of '~'

I tried to remove completely and reinstalled but didn't get it right. It worked before and then just stopped. It seems to just stop at random points, really.

Please try to remove sunvox_config.ini file in the folder with SunVox and in the home user directory (if exists).

I deleted every sunvox_config.ini file that I could find. Then I tried reinstalling libsdl1.2. Still the same problem, it quits during startup.
It's an old Dell laptop but sunvox is a good use for it. I'll try to come up with something else for a while, if I can. I'm sure it can be made to work somehow.

In your log file i see the following text:
ALSA lib conf.c:1686:(snd_config_load1) _toplevel_:3:0:Unexpected char
ALSA lib conf.c:3406:(config_file_open) /etc/asound.conf may be old or corrupted: consider to remove or fix it

So please check this /etc/asound.conf file. May be you should try to remove it?
