Merry Christmas 2017!

my attempt at some synth slaybells!

Very expensive on the CPU (8-6% on my laptop), but i think that real sounding cymbals take up most of my CPU anyways... maybee someone here can show me how to optimize this.

Cheers and happy holidays!

I call it brown kit because it is an attempt to make models of real drums, but there are certain things that just sound well… kindof like a brown-out during a bad storm. The CPU load is on my laptop is somewhere between 10% and 20%. I let the bassdrum, snare and bongos span a few octaves for tuning purposes. Should be a pretty cool kit to pop in and make some breakbeats, but I wouldn’t consider it a work of perfection by any measure ;)

Bass Drum: C2-a3
Bongos: B3-B4
Snare Drum: C5-B6
Hi-hat: C7
Tambourine: D7
Crash Cymbal: E7
Hi-Mid-Low Tom Drum: F7-G7-A7
Guiro: B7
Cow Bell: C8
Hand Claps: D8
Whistle: E8

Some of these patches need animation in the tracker column to work right… most notable is the Guiro and the Tambourine. Look inside the patch at the first pattern to see what I was thinking for the controllers. Also, there are no controllers for mixing volumes, you might have to go inside and adjust accordingly, but this doesn’t seem like the kind of kit that you would house out to and fade in and out of drum patch loops.

If you guys have some killer drum synths, or some ideas on how to improve this patch, I would love to hear them!

Thanks!

My supersaw variation. It's a lot smoother than NR's supersaw featured in 1.9.3 when playing high notes and a little bit greasy when playing low notes. I also made it stereo spreaded, so it sounds better in headphones. I'll make mono version, if this is necessary.

hey, how would you do this with polyphony? well... sure there is a way to make some chord catcher, i have made them in other soft-synths and scripts and things. this is just a mono Karplus-Strong synth as an example with a string mute/position control (not really, but there are 2 places in the slider that sound believable). well... just had to put this here for people on the Karplus-bandwagon.

Frog Bass... simple mono synth for brainless composing. Just a low/pass filter, a cutoff (with built in rez) and then a random env mod. sounds good with a multisynth using the phase and some random volume.

have fun!

Purple Kit!

Silly FM generator based house music Kit. Has an overdrive amp for the main mix and mute/solo switches for each patch. The mute is independent of the solo channel so if you mute a drum patch while soloed it will be silent when you de-solo it.

C0-B0 FM Lead Synth (same instrument as C5-B7, just lower octaves)
C1-B2 FM Bass-line Synth
C3-E3 FM Bass drum
F3-B3 FM Snares
C4-E4 FM Hi-Hats
F4-B4 FM Cymbals
C5-B7 FM Lead Synth

Here's a simple one... 16384 Hz noise LFO generator and bias corrector. Non-stop noise in a single box.

Edit: I've updated this to be a generalized free-running oscillator as a special case of LFO generation mode. Basically wrapping LFO generator mode and bias offset, and hiding some controllers, so you get even amplitude in both positive and negative, instead of just positive as with standard LFO generator mode when you adjust the LFO amplitude.

"Noise.sunvox" is now just a variation of "Oscillator.sunvox"
