I use PuppyLinux pretty much exclusively as my Linux Distribution of choice. Anyone else here in the WarmPlace community?
http://puppylinux.com/ This is the official homepage. Its relatively new and has download links for the two official forks.
slacko is based on Slackware binaries and carries full package compatibility with slackware 14.1 and Salix packages (accessible from the Puppy Package Manager)
tahr is based on Ubuntu LTS Trusty Tahr binaries and has full package compatibility with their repositories and packages.
https://github.com/puppylinux-woof-CE/woof-CE this builds a Puppy Linux distribution. Kernel-kit included.

PuppyLinux runs on literally damn near anything. I have 5 rigs (1 desktop, 3 laptops, 1 netbook) running one of the official forks and it boots with full driver recognition and they all run SunVox quite well. Oldest rig is a 15+ year old eMachines desktop (my first PC). Two dell laptops 10+ years old. netbook is 7ish years old. My Alienware is 6ish years old and even the two NVidia cards in SLI are recognized in Puppy.
It is a very versatile distro.
I highly recommend checking Puppy out.
Also, as my Linux skills improve, I dream of putting together a WarmPlaceOS. Fully loaded with my fav audio software and a nifty real time kernel option. I'm sure between all of the great minds in this community a prototype WarmPlace Pup could be pushed out in no time.
Imagine, anywhere you go, all of the amazing WarmPlace apps in your pocket. Just a USB stick is all you need. All your settings, templates, samples, etc. could travel with you regardless of whether or not you have a full computer.
I could also just remaster one of the official supported puppies (builtin script that pops out a new Puplet with all your software additions/subtractions), which I probably will. But a Puppy from scratch offers a lot of configuration options to be optimized for the audio apps. We could even get update scripts for all the apps and PixiLang.
Just had to share. Love the Puppy community and functionality (especially on old/obscure hardware) and I love this community and software. It would be pretty awesome to merge the two.
